YOU/ME II

what's something you've eaten and liked, but didn't think you would?

It would have to be Nopales. Not familiar with Nopales aka Cactus? Read up on them and their history and nutritional/health benefits here.  Funny story to share: I was invited to a friend’s house for New Year’s two or three years ago and one of the dishes of the many that was being offered was ensalada de nopales. Everyone went to town on them as if it was a given that you would put them on your plate and love them. Well, when in Rome.  YUMMS!!! They weren’t as slimy as I thought and now I look forward to eating them often now. Some of my favorite dishes that include the ethnic delicacy are: Huarache de Nopales from Taco Veloz on Chicago Avenue, quesadillas de nopales prepared by moms, and ensalada de nopales from El Milagro restaurant.

plastic surgery..yay or nay?
Honestly, whatever makes you happy.

things you love about spring are.....?
The smell outside has.  Have you ever taken a whiff? It has that “new day” smell to it.
We get to see more of my favorite star…the Sun

Check out a song that sums it all up!

when's the last time you went on a picnic?
Too long ago to remember(sad face). Oh wait, I saw a movie in the park two summers ago and had chips, does that count?

what's your favorite app?
Boo! No I phone yet.

who does the (your) grocery shopping in your house?
Me and sometimes Diana (my roommate).  I buy my own groceries every week but I usually eat Diana’s food too. Sorry buddy! My sister says I’m a deadbeat roommate for doing that.  It may have something to do with the fact that the last time she came over most of the stuff I was offering belonged to Diana.  Honetsly, what are roommates for if not to munch off of? JK!

would you rather take a spin class or zumba?
Spin class! I encourage anyone to taek three classes.  The first is tough, the second one you are usually sore and your but hurts, but by the third one you are a spin fanatic.
how often do you go out to dinner?
With friends, family and coworkers, about 8 times a month. It’s pretty often and I need to cut back. I was thinking about trying 30 days of not going to a restaurant I have been to before. Forcing me to try something new.  There are so many good and different restaurants in Chicago. Why o why must I always end up at the golden arches?  Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations?

  1. OMG! I remember that day! I also remember my uncle giving you handfuls of food, was it the nopales he served you or something else? Too funny! I am glad you like them.
