Demetria Gallagher (urbancycle@gmail.com)is an AAAN counselor but also the president of the Urban Cycle (side dish!). The Urban Cycle is a non-for profit organization, that creates social change though employment opportunities in the community. She always knew that she was going to college because her family was very encouraging. She attended U of I in Urbana-Champagne. She was extremely involved in her school.

That most people do not want help but the reality is that sometimes they are unaware or cannot obtain them.

Yes, I am living my dream because I get to be the middle person between the community and corporate America.
Her passion has been to give back to the community and provide resources that she had that others could benefit from.
Ms. Gallagher is a true visionary. I spoke with her for about 30minutes and she was very vibrant, full of information and you can tell by being in her presence that she really is living her dream even if it is a side dish for right now.

Kudos to Demetria! She's a hard working woman who ensures everyone in her surroundings improves his/her quality of life through education, empowerment, and professional development. Her focus on disadvantaged communities and passion for urban development shows daily in everything she does at work. I am honored to work with her on a daily basis and consider her not just a friend but a true role model!
